Chapter 1: Rin Kagamine

The end of the day came quick, school ended and Rin and Miku decided to walk home together. Miku wanted to wait by the gates so Len could tag along but Rin immediately disagreed and it was just the two of them.

"Rin, did you and Len have a fight or something?" Miku asked.

"N-No. Why would you think that?" Rin stuttered.

"Well when he bumped into you earlier you quickly ran away from him and you didn't even wait for him after school by the gates."

"I-I wanted to get to my class on time and he could walk home by himself, he doesn't need me to walk with him."

Miku stopped walking, causing Rin to stop with her. "Rin, this isn't like you. What is going on with you and Len?" she asked seriously.

Rin sighed. "I guess nothing gets past you, does it?" She took a deep breath and told Miku about her forbidden crush about Len.

"S-So...you like Len...in the..wrong way?" Miku asked to make sure she wasn't hearing things.

"Y-Yes.." Rin admitted, blushing.

"I-I have to go now!" Before Rin could say anything, Miku was already down the block.

"Great, looks like I'll have to suffer another beating by myself." Rin thought to herself as she slowly walked home.

When she made it home, she found her mother sitting on the couch with Len. Her father usually worked late and didn't get home until 9:00 and it was only 3:30. Rin was surprised to see Len home before her and the serious expression on his face made her worry.

"It's about time you got home!" Their mother shouted harshly at Rin. "What is the meaning of this?!" She stormed up to Rin, furious.

"Wh-What's the meaning of what?" Rin stuttered.

"Don't play dumb with me!!!" Their mother slapped Rin in the face, causing Rin to hit the wall. "You have forbidden feelings for Len, don't you?! You SLUT!!!"

Rin gasped. "H-How did she find out...?" She wondered.

"ANSWER ME!!!" Their mother screeched.

"A-Alright, it's true! Yes, I-I have..forbidden feelings for Len..." Rin whimpered. She looked over at Len, who was speechless for words. Their mother growled.

"I KNEW IT, YOU SKANK!!! WHEN LEN TOLD ME, I KNEW IT WAS TRUE!!!" Their mother shouted. She kicked Rin's stomach, Rin let out a painful cry and held her stomach.

"M-Mother, please! Don't hurt her!" Len tried to reason with her, but she didn't listen.

"Len, go to your room. Now." Their mother said.

"....Y-Yes mother.." Len gave up. Rin watched him with a sad expression on her face as he walked away and into his room.

"L-Len..." Rin started to cry, even though he knew she loved him in the wrong way, he did nothing to help her from their mother's abusing.

"YOU SKANK, YOU SLUT, YOU WHORE!!!!" Their mother shot harsh words at her, kicking and slapping her as each word came out.

By the time the beating was over, it was already 8:30 and Rin was covered with many bruises and scars. She also had blood coming out of her mouth from the kicks to her stomach.

"Go to bed, I don't want to see you for the rest of the night." Her mother grabbed a chunk of Rin's hair and pulled her close to her face. "If I see you before tomorrow morning, you're dead. And don't you dare do anything to Len, you hear me?" she snarled.

"Y-Yes, mother...." Rin whimpered in pain. Her mother slammed her to the cold, hard floor and walked out of the room, mumbling something about Rin being a slut under her breath. Rin ran to her room, which happened to be the same room as Len's, they shared a room.

When she walked in the room, she saw Len sitting at his desk by his bed doing his homework. She took one small step into the room and immediately fell to the floor. She was too weak to move from the beating.

"Rin! Are you okay?!" Len ran over to her, he picked her up and set her on her bed.

"D-Does it look like I'm okay?!" Rin cried.

"I'm sorry..."

"Wh-Who told you?"

"Told me what?"

"......"

"O-Oh...It was Gumi. She told me she heard rumors."

"I see..."

After an awkward silence, Len pulled Rin into a hug and he started to cry. Rin couldn't return the hug, not just because she was too weak to do so, but because he mentioned it to their mother.

"R-Rin..I'm so sorry..." He apologized, crying.

"Wh-Why did you tell her? You know she beats the living shit out of me on a daily basis, why would you tell her something like that?!" Rin screamed. She hated being mean, especially to Len, but her world was broken.

"I-It just slipped out! I'm sorry!"

"Things like that just don't slip out, Len!"

"......A-And I hate to say it but...I'm sorry, I don't have the same feelings for you...I can only think of you as a sister, I'm so sorry, Rin..."

"...Get off of me.."

"Wh-What?"

"Let go of me!!!" Rin screamed. She pushed Len off of her bed with the last of the energy she had and collapsed on her bed. She didn't bother to pull the blanket over her, she was too tired to do anything, so she just drifted off into a sleep.

"I-I'm so sorry, Rin..." Len kissed her forehead and went back to doing his homework.


~The Next Morning: At School~

Rin didn't even bother to talk to Len, she didn't even look at him. She felt so broken, she had no one to rely on but Miku.

When she made it into the school, the kids that passed her teased her, but Rin ignored it all. Her mind was too focused on finding Miku to deal with any of the bullying.

Although, there was one certain boy that spilled a certain word that caught her attention...

"Incest, Incest!!" Leon snickered. All of the kids in the hallway started laughing. Rin stopped her tracks and glared at Leon.

"Wh-Who told you?!" Rin snapped.

"I did it, Rin." Rin knew who that voice belonged to, and she didn't want to believe it, but she faced reality when she turned around and saw that it was....Miku....

"M-Miku?! Why..?" Rin asked.

"I-I'm sorry! They all cornered me in a dark alley after I ran away yesterday and they made me tell them anything I knew about you!" Miku cried.

"I don't believe it..." Rin whispered. The tears streamed down her face and she began to run away, she ran as fast as she could.

"Rin! Wait! I'm so sorry!!!" Miku cried, but Rin didn't stop. Miku started to run after her.

As she was running, she bumped into someone. It was Len.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry, Miku." Len apologized.

"Now's not the time for that, we have to go get Rin!" Miku cried.

"Wh-What's wrong with Rin?!" Len panicked.

"I'll tell you later, but we have to go!" Miku grabbed Len's wrist and started to run down the hallway.

Meanwhile, Rin was already at the rooftop. The breeze felt nice, she was starting to get used to it. She walked over to the railing and looked down to see the road with all the cars. They looked so small, only because the school building was tall. She put her legs over the railing until she was standing on it.

Her mind was set, she needed to run away. There was only one way out...

"RIN, DON'T DO IT!!!" Len shouted. He ran up to the rooftop along with Miku, Mrs. Megurine, Piko, and even Leon was there, surprised by this.

"Why not? Nobody loves me, nobody cares about me. I've just been a punching bag for everyone, physically and verbally." Rin whimpered.

"That's not true! Rin, we do care about you!" Miku cried.

"Yeah! Just because I don't feel the same way doesn't mean I hate you!" Len shouted.

"Rin, just please get down from there, you're going to hurt yourself!!!" Mrs. Megurine screamed.

"No. My mind is set. This is the only way out. My world is broken. There's no point in rebuilding it when it's just going to break down again. I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused..." Rin cried. She stretched her arms out and closed her eyes.

"RIN, PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!" Len shouted, tears pouring from his eyes.

"I hope mother is happy with the decision I've made..." Rin whispered. Len's eyes widdened.

"PLEASE DON'T DO THIS, PLEASE!!! YOU'RE MY SISTER AND I LOVE YOU!!! DON'T DO THIS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!" Len let out a bloodcurdling scream, but it didn't have any effect on Rin.

"Goodbye..." Rin whispered. She leaned back until her feet were no longer touching the railing and she felt a strong breeze. Everyone gasped by her action.

"RIIIIINNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!" Len shouted. He ran over to the railing and jumped after her. Since he was a bit heavier, he went down faster and pulled Rin into a hug. Before any of them could say anything, their bodies collided with the concrete and blood was splattered everywhere.

Everyone heard their bodies hit the ground, they ran over to the railing to see the dreadful image of the two twins dead with their blood all over the walls of the building.

Miku started to back away, she put her hands on the side of her head and screamed insanely. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" Mrs. Megurine ran over to her and pulled her into a hug, trying to calm her down. Although, she was shaking just as much as everyone else.

"W-Wow..." Leon stuttered. He didn't know just words could push people that far...

"You see what happens! LOOK AT WHAT YOU CAUSED!!!" Piko shouted harshly at Leon.

"It wasn't just Leon, Piko. Rin was dealing with some other stress at home..." Mrs. Megurine said, trying to sound calm.

"Rin..." Piko said. He didn't really know her or talk to her, but he still wished he did.

Everyone was silent for the rest of the day. Mrs. Megurine just made everyone do textbook work while her mind drifted in thoughts. Miku was too shaken up to do any work. Leon stopped bullying kids for a little while. Piko managed to do some of his work, but he was still upset that Rin was picked on so much she took the easy way out, Len following her.

R.I.P. Rin and Len Kagamine...
